Before the meeting
Fika provides the name, venue, and time. You don’t need to share any additional personal information before your first meeting. Your contact details, home address, and workplace are private until you choose to share them.
- Tell a friend or family member where you are going and roughly when to expect you back.
- Check the venue location in advance so you know how to get there and how to leave.
- Arrive with a full phone battery, or carry a portable charger.
- You do not need to share your surname, employer, or home neighbourhood before you meet.
- If something about the arrangement feels wrong before you go, trust that feeling — contact Fika to postpone.
During the meeting
Fika meetings happen at curated Fika Spots — public, well-lit venues with staff present. This is intentional. You should never agree to move to a private location on a first Fika meeting.
- Meet at the designated Fika Spot only. If your match suggests a different venue, decline and notify Fika.
- Arrange your own transport to and from the meeting — do not accept a lift from a new match.
- Keep your phone accessible. Let a friend know when you arrive and when you leave.
- Order your own drinks and keep them in sight. Do not accept drinks that were ordered without your knowledge.
- You are never obligated to stay. If you feel uncomfortable for any reason, leave.
After the meeting
Fika asks for brief feedback after every meeting. This helps us improve introductions and is how we identify patterns of concerning behaviour before they escalate.
- Submit your meeting feedback through the app — it takes less than 60 seconds.
- If anything made you uncomfortable, report it. Even if you are not sure it rises to a formal complaint, note it. Patterns matter.
- You are never obligated to accept a follow-up introduction with the same person.
Reporting a concern
Fika takes all safety reports seriously. Reports are reviewed by a human — not an automated system — within 24 hours.
- In the app: Go to your meeting history, select the meeting, and tap “Report a concern.”
- By email: growth@fikaconnects.com
- Emergency: If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
