Members complete a compatibility test. We identify compatible matches within their city. We arrange the meeting. The members show up, have a genuine conversation, and leave having actually connected with someone new.

Beyond curated one-on-one meetings, Fika also organises offline group events for members — often built around a shared physical activity like a morning run, a padel session, or a neighbourhood walk. The format changes; the idea is the same: get people off their phones and into the same room.

In 2024, the Swedish government identified ofrivillig ensamhet — involuntary loneliness — as a national public health challenge. Sweden leads the EU in the percentage of people living alone, and Stockholm has among the highest rates of social isolation among working-age professionals.

The membership is the foundation. A corporate seat gives an employee full Fika membership — this is how Fika gets to know them, curates genuinely compatible people, and arranges introductions. Everything that makes Fika feel considered rather than random lives inside the membership. It is the part you are buying for your team.

Tokens are how a meeting becomes real. When two members decide to actually meet, each spends one Token to confirm. That small step is the whole point. Meeting people has quietly become harder — not because people don’t want to, but because cancelling at the last minute has become normal. Commentators and researchers have described a growing “flake culture”: in an always-on, endlessly-rescheduled world, plans feel optional and no-shows carry little cost.

A Token puts something real on the line. It signals to the other person, I have actually decided to show up — and if you don’t, the Token is gone. When both people have made that small commitment, both people turn up. It is a quiet, dignified way to bring accountability back to meeting someone new.

Tokens sit outside the membership. Single tokens and 2– and 3–token bundles stay valid for 3 months; 5– and 8–token bundles stay valid for 6 months. Token subscriptions provide 3 tokens each month and reset monthly.

That’s entirely your choice. Most companies share the benefit openly — “we’re offering Fika memberships” — which is where the goodwill comes from. Alternatively, you can distribute a redemption code without attribution. Either way, what employees do on Fika is entirely private. We do not share individual member activity, matches, or meeting outcomes with employers. Ever.
We provide aggregate redemption data — how many seats have been claimed from your allocation — so you can see uptake without seeing individual activity. We do not provide, and will not provide, any data about what individual employees do as Fika members. The benefit only works if employees trust it is genuinely private.
