Fika is built on a simple premise: real people, real meetings, real connection. These guidelines exist to protect that. They apply to every member, in every city, from the moment you join.
Core principles
- Respect. Treat every person you meet as you would want to be treated. This is non-negotiable.
- Honesty. Your Story, your compatibility test responses, and your intentions must be genuine.
- Accountability. You are responsible for your behaviour at every Fika meeting.
- Safety first. The safety of every member is more important than any individual’s preference or convenience.
What is required of every member
- Arrive on time for scheduled meetings, or give reasonable notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
- Represent yourself honestly in your Story and compatibility test.
- Meet at the designated Fika Spot only — do not suggest alternative venues for first meetings.
- Submit honest feedback after each meeting through the app.
- Report any behaviour that concerns you — even if you are uncertain whether it is a violation.
What is strictly prohibited
- Harassment. Any unwanted communication, persistence after a clear decline, or intimidation.
- Deception. False identity, misrepresentation of age, or fabricated personal information.
- Physical aggression. Any threatening, aggressive, or violent behaviour.
- Coercion. Pressuring any member to continue contact, share personal information, or meet outside of Fika’s arranged context.
- Recording. Recording, photographing, or sharing any details of a meeting or member without explicit consent.
- Solicitation. Using Fika for commercial solicitation, recruitment, or any purpose other than genuine social connection.
- Minors. Any attempt to interact with or introduce a person under 18 is grounds for immediate permanent removal and referral to law enforcement.
Consent
Consent is ongoing, informed, and revocable at any time. A member declining a follow-up introduction, leaving a meeting early, or not responding to a message is exercising their right. Continued contact after a clear decline is a violation of these guidelines.
Enforcement
Fika reviews all reports within 24 hours. Enforcement actions range from a formal warning to immediate permanent removal, depending on severity.
- Minor violations (first offence, non-threatening): formal warning and mandatory guideline review.
- Repeated or moderate violations: temporary suspension, followed by a review before reinstatement.
- Serious violations (harassment, deception, aggression, anything involving minors): immediate, permanent removal with no right of appeal.
How to report
Reports can be made in the Fika app (Meeting History › Report a concern) or by email at growth@fikaconnects.com. All reports are treated confidentially. Reporting in good faith is always the right thing to do — there is no penalty for raising a concern that is not confirmed.
