# Biometric Privacy Policy.

## What biometric data Fika collects

Fika uses selfie-based identity verification to confirm that every member is a real person and is 18 years of age or older. This process involves submitting a selfie photograph through the Fika app. The selfie may be used to generate a facial geometry measurement or similar biometric identifier for the purpose of identity confirmation.

## Purpose

Biometric data is collected for one purpose only: to verify your identity and confirm you are over 18. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than membership verification.

## Who processes the data

Identity verification photos are reviewed by Fika's own team. Fika does not use a third-party verification service. The verification provider is contractually bound to process data solely for the purpose of identity verification and not to retain or use data beyond what is necessary for that purpose.

## Retention and deletion

Biometric verification data is not retained by Fika beyond the period necessary to complete verification. Once your identity has been confirmed, Fika retains only the result of the verification (confirmed / not confirmed) — not the underlying biometric data. Our verification provider's retention terms are defined in their data processing agreement with Fika and comply with applicable state law.

## Your rights

If you are located in Illinois, Washington, Texas, or another US state with biometric privacy law, you have the right to:
- Know what biometric data has been collected about you.
- Request deletion of your biometric data.
- Receive compensation if your biometric data is handled unlawfully.

By completing the selfie verification step during Fika onboarding, you consent to the collection and processing of biometric data as described in this policy. You may withdraw consent by deleting your account — see our Delete Account page.
